This weekend at Yaoi-Con, the winner for both for comedy and overall best AMV was Vivifx’s “Ship Happens”, and let me just say, watching this in a ballroom crammed full of fujoshi and fudanshi… well, I’m pretty sure they heard the laughter up on the hotel’s 9th floor…
In truth, I’m not usually that into AMV’s, but if I see more like this I may become a serious convert.
wait, what the heck’s that fujoshi saying?
If you’re uncertain about the fandom terms of ship, canon, OTP, or crack ship/pairing, you can check them out in my handy guide to fujoshi slang.
You know, I think I want to take a flight on her crack ship…
Don’t miss the other Yaoi-Con 2014 award-winning AMV’s:
- Best technical AMV: “The Story Goes On” by Desdemona (Uraboku/Betrayal Knows my Name)
- Best Drama: “No Light” by Tigrin/359172 (Ai no Kusabi, 2012)
- Best Romance: “A Lullaby for the Lost” by Mad World Productions (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi)
- Non-BL Winners: BecauseI’mBored’s “Hot Blooded” (K-Project) & “Poor Unfashionable Souls” (Princess Jellyfish)
I LOVE that video!!!!!!! Even though I am more of a canon girl (how dull, I know), sometimes you just have to go with what feels right 😉

Glad you like it! She did an amazing job making it. Really incredible piece of work. I don’t even want to know how long it took to put that together.
Personally, I’ve always been a sci-fi and fantasy fan (things that are far removed from reality as we know it), so I find crack ship entertaining, but I know it upsets some folks. Still, I think just about everyone who’s into shipping or yaoi at will be amused by this video…

Glad you enjoyed! I have watched it so many times, I’ve lost count. Really makes me want to watch/re-watch those anime to see the pieces she stitched together. I absolutely love the ending. The little smirk on that guy’s face…

I originally saw this AMV at Otakon which won best comedy. She did an excellent job! I agree that you have to watch this several times to catch all the subtle references. So funny!
